Everything is Connected

Bathed in seven different types

of dazzling light,

Past resolutions and the scent of a new journey happily intertwines,

The precious essence held in poetry scatters divine sparks,

Generates an internal microcosm in the body, attune with

galactic equations,

A fateful reunion after several reincarnations,

It becomes a chain and spreads out into another human pattern,

With inspiration flying between distant lands,

My steps are light and my life goes along

with the comfortable flow.

Shorten the time it takes to learn of

Akasha's ulterior motives.

That's how everything is connected.

Signpost

The revenge I swore with gritted teeth, following my young defeat,

Its sound lurks somewhere without being realized,

After which, the soul miraculously grows,

That day when I gained the strength to face my dirty and stagnant heart,

I realized, there is joy even in things that don't come true,

Every morning will be the day of resurrection,

When guideposts towards love are shown.

A Very Beautiful Prologue

Thoughts of twilight fade in,

Memories casting orange shades,

Ah,

Those days when you were everything,

My heart is a torrent with nothing to stop it,

It was a minor overtone, agonizing over the question of love,

And you left,

The next year, I placed our lost love in the back of my mind,

Be quiet,

I lived alone with few words,

This heart that is too sad,

Eventually, things turned around and I got closer to happiness.

Everything was a beautiful prologue,

That era,

Even though my real life has just begun,

I didn't realize it yet.

Even Sadness

Keeping scenery experienced by the mind, abstract in form,

Anti-conventionalists fill the void of loneliness,

Memories are reheating without stopping,

Tears are connected to beloved music,

Longing for things that are far away,

A thousand years of sleep is condensed into a moment,

I wonder if passing that town will fill my heart again?

Is there no end to a poet's journey?

Footsteps are a continuous sound,

Reminding you of life’s history,

If I look back at myself,

Even sadness reaches beauty, eventually.

The "divine feminine" once again entered the outside world

Through the door of Deity's love.

Featured Poet Interview:

1. How did your poetic journey begin?

I began writing free style poetry in my high school days, having been influenced by Japanese Taisho era poets, who I first encountered in textbooks, and French poets like Verlaine and Rimbaud. I stopped writing poetry after graduating from high school, and instead, started writing song lyrics, in English, for my original rock band that I was active in, at the time. I returned to free style writing, in Japanese, near the end of 2017. It happened suddenly for me, but naturally, because I had always wanted to write again, and was waiting for good timing.

2. Do you have any favorite words?

Ever-changing.

3. You are also a visual artist. Your artwork is often from observation. Do you find that writing allows you to be more introspective?

I often write about past events, about my youth, which was a long time ago. So, it is more nostalgia than introspection.

4. If you could travel anywhere in the world to write, where would you go?

Israel, Turkey, London, etc . . . these are the places where I want to travel right now.

5. What inspires you?

I so often write poetry without inspiration. I decide it like: "Today I gotta write poetry!" Then I force myself to do it by sitting in front of my PC screen. When I'm inspired, it is usually because I was thinking of my past, for instance, about my youthful romances, or of one-sided love.

6. Where do you like to write?

At the writing desk in my bedroom.

7. What poet do you admire most, and why?

Sakutaro Hagiwara. He is my one and only poet. Through his poems and essays, he taught me everything I needed to know about life.

8. If you were a tree, which would you be?

Specifically, the roots, I want to be deep-rooted into the earth (ha ha!). But the older the tree, the better—like Jōmon Sugi.
